Great night last night at the Powerstation in Auckland, one of the best live venues ever, not just in New Zealand but anywhere I've been to. Small, intimate and a fantastic vibe, it's pure magic. The Charlatans were outstanding as always, with Tim in a particularly fun and lively mood, and the setlist was a belter; they played loads from the album Between 10th & 11th which is a particular favourite of mine.
I try not to be one of those people with their phones constantly out at gigs but in my defence - and my other line of work - I am a live music photographer, so I used the iPhone 13 Pro to see how it handled the challenging low-light conditions. It actually does a very decent job so long as you shoot in RAW and edit afterwards (and don't look *too* closely), but it's no match for my real gear. I won't be turning up to a paid job with only an iPhone in my hand any time soon...
I'm a bit deaf in one ear today but it was well worth it.
